Human Resources / Safety Coordinator

Position Overview:

The HR/Safety Coordinator will serve as a key member of our team, assisting with a wide range of functions including recruitment, employee onboarding, HR compliance, and employee relations. The role also supports our safety program through training coordination and basic compliance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Human Resources Support:

  • Assist with recruitment process including job postings, screening, interviews and onboarding
  • Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with labor laws and internal policies
  • Serve as a point in contact for employee questions related to HR policies, benefits and procedures.

Safety Coordination:

  • Implement and monitor compliance with Occupational Health and Safety standards and company-specific safety standards.
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments
  • Maintain safety records, including training reports and training logs
  • Implement/create safe work procedures.
  • Organize/lead safety meetings
  • Investigate incidents and assist with corrective action plans.
  • Manage and monitor WCB/modified duty cases to ensure the maintenance of the performance rating.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience of HR or safety experience (combined or separate roles)
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft platform
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
