We are seeking a reliable, motivated, and mechanically inclined Yard Supervisor to join our Rental Division team. This role is a key position responsible for overseeing daily yard operations while remaining actively involved in hands-on work. The Yard Supervisor will coordinate equipment and personnel, maintain an organized and efficient yard, and support light-duty maintenance and repairs to ensure rental assets are always job-ready.
This position requires strong leadership skills, practical mechanical knowledge, and the ability to balance physical work with supervising staff in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily yard operations, including coordination of rental equipment and yard personnel
- Assign tasks, direct workflow, and support yard staff to ensure efficiency and productivity
- Organize, stage, and maintain rental products to ensure equipment is accessible, clean, and ready for dispatch
- Perform and assist with light-duty repairs and maintenance, including plumbing, welding, electrical, and mechanical work
- Conduct routine inspections of rental equipment and yard facilities
- Ensure the yard is kept clean, safe, and well-organized at all times
- Assist with snow removal and seasonal yard maintenance as required
- Enforce safety procedures and promote a safe working environment
- Communicate effectively with management, dispatch, and team members to support daily operations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a supervisory, lead hand, or yard operations role is considered an asset
- Strong mechanical aptitude; experience with plumbing, welding, electrical, or mechanical repairs is a significant advantage
- Ability to lead by example with a hands-on approach
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently while also directing and supporting a team
- Physically capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Comfortable operating equipment and working in an industrial yard environment
- Strong attention to safety and detail
- Valid driver’s license required
