We are seeking a reliable and experienced Steamer Truck Operator to join the Elite Vac & Steam team. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for safely operating mobile steamer units to perform industrial steam cleaning, pressure washing equipment, dewaxing wells and production equipment, freeze up remediation and hydrate removal at industrial, commercial, agricultural, and residential sites. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, a safety-first mindset, and a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service in challenging environments.
Our steamer operators work with clean, reliable equipment, handling complex jobs such as rig washes, vapour suppression, compressor cooler cleaning, casing and flow line steam injection while maintaining strict safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate mobile steamer trucks to perform industrial steam cleaning, pressure washing, and heating services
- Complete work related to plant turnarounds, cooler fin cleaning, and industrial equipment cleaning
- Safely set up and operate steaming and pressure washing equipment at job sites
- Monitor job conditions including H2S and LEL levels and follow all site-specific safety procedures
- High level of hazard awareness when completing various tasks, occasionally in a congested work area
- Interact professionally with customers, providing service updates and ensuring job satisfaction
- Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and equipment
- Complete required paperwork including time sheets, job tickets, and ELD logs
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-maintained truck and work area
- Follow all company policies, safety programs, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Valid Class 3 Driver’s License
- Off-road driving experience required
- Valid safety certifications including H2S Alive, First Aid, and Confined Space
- Experience operating steamer trucks or industrial pressure washing equipment is preferred (in-house training available)
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
- Ability to lift, carry, and handle heavy equipment and hoses
- Strong attention to detail, especially regarding safety and compliance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills with customers, dispatch, and crew members
- Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends, overtime, or after-hours as required
