Elite Vac & Steam is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our growing Hydro Vac Division.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain a diverse fleet of heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and fluid handling equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing to maximize equipment reliability
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, air, and braking systems
- Complete CVIP inspections (if licensed) and ensure equipment remains compliant with provincial regulations
- Inspect equipment for safety and operational readiness
- Accurately document repairs, inspections, and maintenance records
- Work closely with operations to minimize equipment downtime
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Participate in after-hours or overtime work when required
Qualifications
- Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic certification preferred, but not required
- CVIP Inspection License considered an asset
- Experience working on heavy trucks, trailers, vacuum trucks, hydro vacs, fluid hauling equipment, or similar heavy equipment is considered an asset
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude with a strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
- Valid driver’s license required (Class 1 or 3 considered an asset)
- Must provide own tools and toolbox
